China approves visa-free entry for nine more countries


China officially confirmed the expansion of visa-free travel for 9 new countries, including regional neighbour South Korea. 

Beginning Friday, 8tjh November, citizens of South Korea, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Slovakia, Andorra, Monaco, and Liechtenstein may now enter China without a visa for up to 15 days for tourism, business travel, family visits, or transit.

China’s Foreign Ministry declared that the ruling will remain in place until 31st December 2025, as with countries previously approved for visa-free entry. 

This recent addition to the roster of nations allowed visa-free into China is part of the country’s active policy to promote tourism and personnel exchanges with European and other countries. This dictum has been in place since the beginning of 2024. 

As part of this program, China previously introduced visa-free travel for 6 European countries in March of this year.

Since July, an additional 15 countries, including Germany, were included among those allowed visa-free entry.
